Read It Backwards

I have been so very busy lately. It's been nearly impossible to find time for this blog, but today I want to offer one invaluable proofreading tip that someone shared with me years ago.

Read it backwards. That's right. Aside from all of the other proofreading steps you take, read your entire document backwards. This means to start with the last sentence, then read the second to last sentence, then the third to last and so on, until you have read back to the beginning. You won't believe how typos jump out at you.

So there you have it! A quick tip for a Friday.

I've got so much more to share about what I've been doing and how it's all going and what I've been learning--for there is always something new to learn. But alas, I am, again, on deadline. Got to go!

(But first, I will proofread this entry!)

Kind regards, Mary
